Here’s Who We Are

January is a time for new beginnings, so we want to wish you a happy new year and share a few exciting updates.

Over the past year, many of you have joined us at meetups and events, and we’re grateful for your friendship, support and participation. Our face-to-face conversations matter, especially as it becomes increasingly clear that Encinitas has a growing number of anonymous social media accounts focused on toxicity and misinformation.

At Encinitas Action, we want to rise above that rhetoric, particularly propaganda from those accounts that won’t attach their real names to hateful posts or conspiracy theories.

In that spirit, we’re sharing our identities with you here to re-introduce ourselves and to reaffirm our commitment to you: as neighbors, we pledge to support civic engagement that strengthens the health and well-being of our community.

Odds are you probably know some of us, or have seen us around town. And we know you, too! Many of us have lived and worked in Encinitas for decades, and have  contributed to cultural, political, and physical improvements here.

We hope you’ll agree with us that Encinitans shouldn’t be afraid to speak up about the issues we care deeply about, whether that’s street safety, housing, infrastructure, or simply improving the tone and truthfulness of our local conversations.

You’re most likely aware that 2026 will be a critical year that will influence Encinitas’ direction for years to come, both locally and nationally. Our ultimate aim is to provide honest, transparent information about issues and events in Encinitas, so you can make up your own mind about shaping our future.

We’re a community group, not a PAC, and we’ll continue to use social media to alert you in advance about upcoming local government decisions and issues.

With the fresh start that January brings, we’re also taking the opportunity to refresh our social media identity. In the past, Encinitas Action used a different name on some of our online accounts – Encinitas4All. To simplify and eliminate any confusion, we’ve folded our Encinitas4All Instagram, Facebookand Substack accounts into a single name – Encinitas Action

We hope these improvements allow us all to work together more effectively to create a better future for Encinitas. We’d love for you to join us – to learn more, just click here or hit the button at the end of this newsletter.

Here’s to a hopeful and positive 2026 for all of us,

—Encinitas Action
