Threats and Intimidation Have No Place in Encinitas

Encinitas Action unequivocally condemns the threatening phone call made to Encinitas City Councilmember Marco San Antonio, which the San Diego County Sheriff’s Office is now investigating.

Threats and intimidation have no place in Encinitas, and no one should ever have to fear for their safety simply for participating in civic life.

We can challenge decisions, question policies, and disagree vigorously without abandoning basic decency and respect for one another.

Our thoughts are with Councilmember San Antonio and his family, and we hope the investigation brings a swift resolution.

Encinitas is strongest when everyone feels safe speaking up, participating, and serving, regardless of where they stand politically.

Healthy disagreement is essential to democracy; intimidation is an attempt to silence participation. Read more about our commitment to respectful disagreement.
